Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using HouseIntel (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. Informational Nature Only
All content on the Site is provided for general informational and research purposes only. Nothing on the Site is legal, tax, financial, contracting, or professional advice. No advisor-client, attorney-client, or fiduciary relationship is established by your use of the Site. You remain solely responsible for verifying any program eligibility, incentive amount, permit requirement, contractor qualification, tax filing, or financial decision with a qualified licensed professional or the relevant program administrator.
3. No Warranty
THE SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. HouseIntel does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that the information shown is current, complete, or accurate.
4. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL HOUSEINTEL OR ITS AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY. HouseIntel's aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the Site shall not exceed the amount paid by you for any Decision Pack in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100), whichever is greater, to the extent permitted by law.
5. User Responsibility
You are solely responsible for verifying program eligibility, incentive amounts, current program status, permit requirements, contractor licensing, tax filings, and any decision made in reliance on the Site. You agree to consult appropriate licensed professionals before relying on any information shown.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HouseIntel and its agents from and against any claim, liability, damages, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or related to your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your reliance on any information shown.
7. No Affiliation
HouseIntel is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, ENERGY STAR, any state agency, any utility (including but not limited to PG&E, SCE, SDG&E, LADWP, SoCalGas, Ava Community Energy), any city building department, the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency (DSIRE), The Switch Is On, CLEAResult, or any contractor.
8. Modifications
HouseIntel may update content on the Site and these Terms at any time without prior notice. The freshness model and "last verified" dates shown alongside each fact are the disclosure mechanism for content currency. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Intellectual Property and DMCA
All content on the Site (excluding cited third-party material) is the property of HouseIntel or its licensors. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, please send a notice complying with 17 U.S.C. ยง512(c)(3) to the designated copyright agent at the contact address listed at the end of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
11. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class-Action Waiver
Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site shall first be addressed through good-faith informal negotiation. If unresolved, the dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the State of Delaware, before a single arbitrator. You and HouseIntel agree that any dispute will be resolved on an individual basis only, and waive any right to participate in a class action or representative proceeding, to the extent such waiver is enforceable in your jurisdiction. Nothing in this Section limits any non-waivable statutory rights, including California Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) claims to the extent applicable.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
13. Force Majeure
HouseIntel shall not be liable for any failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including without limitation acts of God, natural disasters, government action, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor dispute, internet outage, or third-party service provider failure.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HouseIntel regarding the Site and supersede all prior agreements.
